The Pathway Swing Forehand and Backhand Pros

The Pathway Swing - The Forehand & Backhand Pros

The Forehand Pros

After identifying that the ball is on the forehand side, the player begins the back swing by leading the racquet head by opening the racquet face and maintaining an open face throughout the back swing.

This encourages the player to intercept the ball at shoulder height, waist height and again around waist height. When hitting the ball at waist height the player has no choice but to hit across the line of flight.

The Ideal Height (orange area) the player should volley is somewhere between shoulder and knee.
